Laptop Battery Tips:
Laptop batteries today usually come with Li-ion battery packs. Li-ion batteries are one
of the newest types of batteries on the market and last longer than NiCd and NiMH batteries. A typical Li-ion battery can
last between 1 - 3 years, and sometimes longer depending how often the battery is used and how well it has been maintained.
Laptop batteries should be fully recharged after each use to ensure a healthy and long lasting battery. Avoid exposing the
laptop battery to extreme heat, moisture and impact abuse which can damage any type of battery. If your notebook battery
does not hold a charge for very long, it’s probably due for a replacement battery.
An aftermarket laptop battery can be purchased and can have higher performance benefits over
an OEM laptop battery. All of our aftermarket laptop batteries meet strict standards of UL, CE, FCC and RoHS safety and quality.
Increase your laptop battery life by following a few tips to extend the reserve power.
The first step would be to put your laptop into a ‘Power Saver’ mode by selecting Start > Control Panel > Power Options.
You can also turn down your LCD screen brightness, which will use less batter power when the laptop is not plugged in.
All wireless cards, PC cards and plugged in USB devices should be removed or turned off as this can drain battery power very
quickly. Adding more memory can save power by using less virtual memory on the hard drive. Remove any CDs / DVDs from the tray
so they don’t spin up every time the computer is booted or folders are accessed. Whenever your laptop is stored for long periods
of time, make sure you recharge your laptop every month. Laptop batteries that are stored will discharge naturally and will need
to be recharged before each use. Laptop batteries are capable of 300 – 500 discharge and charge cycles, which will ensure that your
laptop battery will last a long time.
